We are currently working at IdidaRide Sled Dog Tours in Seward, Alaska. This gives us an awesome opportunity to work with the dogs throughout the summer months.  The rides we offer are two miles around a dirt course on wheeled sleds, which provides ample physical exercise for the dogs.

Jim is the main tour guide.  He does an hour and fifteen minute walking tour through the Seavey's racing kennel which includes a narrative about the equipment and gear the racers use. He also takes the guests in to the puppy kennels to cuddle the adorable puppies.

Meanwhile Gabe and Tyrell are helping harness the dog teams to the sleds.  The dogs take turns working, and each team usually goes three times a day.  Tyrell and his older brother Danny (an Iditarod veteran) then take people on the ride.  The teams leave the Seavey Homestead (the eldest Seavey, Dan, has lived there ever since 1964) and winds its way up to the base of Resurrection Mountain where it opens into Box Canyon. The teams then travel along Canyon Creek for a short way before returning to the Homestead.

While we operate the tours all summer, the racing is by no means forgotten.  Plans are always being made, dogs bought and sold, and equipment tested and readied for the next racing season.  Ultimate Iditarod preparation is going well, too.  We are now trying to raise money and support for our expedition.  We need to shop for our snowmobiles and electronics.
