| Location: Settler's Bay (near Knik) to Yentna, Alaska, and
back along the Iditarod Trail.
Distance: 154 miles Start and Finish Location: Settler's Bay (Knik-Goose Bay Road) Number of Competitors: 19 (Click here to link to Junior Iditarod mushers and biographies on the Official Iditarod Website.) Age of Competitors: Race rules allow mushers between the ages of 14 and 17 ONLY. Race Format: Teams run 75 miles from start to Yentna Station, rest a mandatory 10 hours, and then return on the same trail. The start time differential is made up at the 10-hour layover. |
