The lead teams have been in route to Unalakleet for a little over 11 hours and are not yet reported in which leads me to believe they are in fact holed up at Old Woman Cabin.  Doug and Jeff are canny racers.  They will not get caught off guard by the approaching pack.  If they are able to maintain their speed no one is going to be able to catch them so at this point loading rest may be their best move.  DeeDee also appears to be very confident with her team.  By giving them 7 hours of rest in Kaltag she stacked her team on rest and facilitated a good run to Unalakleet.  If she manages a good run she could be right in the mix when the leaders pop out on the Bering Sea Coast.

I am flying out of Spokane in the morning and I am on my way to Washington now so I will soon be reporting from the field.  Check back often as I will be updating tonight and hopefully in the morning as the events unfold.
